There once was a tree,
With leaves so green.
It stood tall and proud,
And could be seen.

Its branches were strong,
And its roots were deep.
It weathered the storms,
And it never would weep.

One day, a little boy,
Came to play in the shade.
He climbed up the tree,
And he was not afraid.

He sat on a branch,
And he looked around.
He could see the whole world,
And he felt so proud.

The little boy loved the tree,
And he came back every day.
They would play together,
And they would laugh and they'd sway.

The tree was happy,
To have a friend like the boy.
It would protect him from harm,
And bring him joy.
