I saw a flower, so bright and bold,
Its petals were orange, like the sun.
It made me smile, it made me glad,
I picked it up and took it home.

I put it in a vase on my windowsill,
And every day I would look at it.
It reminded me of the warm summer days,
And the joy of being a kid.

One day, the flower started to wilt,
And its petals began to fall.
I was sad to see it go,
But I knew that it would come back again next year.

And sure enough, the next spring,
The flower bloomed again,
Just as beautiful as it had been before.
And I was just as happy to see it.
